The basic idea of a fuel cell is similar to a battery, however, the difference is that a fuel cell will not run down or in that case will not be required of recharge. The main idea is that a fuel cell produces energy, as long as there is fuel. The built of a fuel cell is not complicated, the important note there is that oxygen and hydrogen but pass over separate electrolyte and generate electricity, water and heat.
In case of the hydrogen fuel cell, hydrogen itself is the fuel and it itself is used for making electricity. The necessary part of oxygen is obtained from the air, so it seems that this process is extremely simple and cheap.
These fuel cells that use hydrogen, can be referred to as devices that do the reverse process of passing an electric current through water splits it up into hydrogen and oxygen, this means that in the fuel cell hydrogen and oxygen are joined together to produce water and electricity.
There are many different sizes of fuel cells, accordingly to the needs of the place where it is used. Electricity out of hydrogen can be used to produce quite small amounts of electric power, for small portable computers or radio transmitters, however even for very high powers for electric power stations. The umber of possibilities is countless.
